About Archbishop Jean Wilson

Bishop Jean V. Wilson is a native of Mt. Vernon, New York, born the sixth of nine children to the late Matthew and Victoria Middleton. She is the mother of Cynthia W. Ushry, and proud grandmother of two grandsons, Sheldon Body, Jr. and Matthew A. Ushry. She has one great grand baby girl, Rayna A. Body.  Bishop Jean started her collegiate matriculation at Savannah State University, Savannah, GA, and received her B.S. degree in Business Education. Later she graduated from Gammon Theological Seminary at the Interdenominational Theological Center in Atlanta, GA in 1992 where she received her Master of Divinity in The Psychology of Pastoral Care. Bishop Wilson received her Doctor of Ministry degree from United Theological Seminary in Dayton, Ohio in 2002, specializing in The Minister as Spiritual Director.

    Bishop Jean’s Ministry and pastoral journey begins in the Fire Baptized Holiness Church (FBH) in 1966. She became Pastor of the New Solomon Temple FBH from 1981-1991, Atlanta, GA. Then, she joined the United Methodist Church, where she served in various pastoral capacities from 1991-1998. Notably, in June 1998, she was appointed as Senior Pastor of Asbury Mt. Olive UMC in Topeka, KS, serving through 2002. That same year, she was appointed as the first African-American Associate Pastor of St. Luke’s United Methodist Church, then a 5,400- member majority Caucasian church in Indianapolis, IN. She was there until June 2005, when she was appointed as Senior Pastor of Wesley UMC, Jeffersonville, IN, serving there until retiring in June 2010.  In April, 2011

   Bishop Jean joined Light of the World Christian Tabernacle where she became very active. She was an Area Pastor until 2013 when she was consecrated to the office of Bishop. Bishop Jean is the Founder of Cornerstone Fellowship International in Atlanta, GA. A fellowship for churches who are in need of covering. Further she trains and ordains persons in the five-fold ministry who feel God has called them into ministry. Bishop Jean is determined to win souls and make disciples for the Kingdom of God. She is available for speaking engagements, weddings or whatever your spiritual needs may be.
